CAN from 5th February to 24th February again with A380

CAN A380 maybe due to high demand for CNY travel peak .

YorkshireJon Dec 16, 2025 2:45 pm

Browsing the Schedules, from 1st June 2026 EK019 Dubai - Manchester and EK20 Manchester - Dubai becomes a 3 class A380 service up from the current 2 class.

HEL in 2026 ?

Had read somewhere online that HEL would be one of the destinations to be added to the Emirates network from DXB, is there any news about this ? Any change this happens in 2026 ?

I won’t share the calculations here as they are specific to type. But suffice it to say, the summer months in particular would be so payload limited there’d be little economic sense.

Long runways are only helpful to a point, all aircraft are subject to a maximum tyre speed, so even if the runways are 10km long the tyre speed is the limitation. Also, perhaps I should point out that take off performance is predicated on the engine failure case. OEI at 5400ft amsl on a summers day is very restrictive.

DEN-IST is around 1700nm less than DEN-DXB on the great circle distance (but even closer in reality due to geo-political routings from E Europe to the Gulf) and it’s also on a different aircraft type that has a lower DOW.

I am not a route planner, so should EK feel they can make a 359 work with a full J cabin, and they’re happy to take a big hit in economy then maybe they could, but no US destination is currently operated without an F cabin. Freighter flights excluded of course 😉

I think this is one of the route types EK wanted to fill with the 778.

There is an article in Bloomberg (paywall) that mentions Helsinki.

I can’t access the article but Helsinki is mentioned.

Should schedules for early March be pretty set? I am going to book a DXB-ORD flight and obviously would like to get the new suite. I feel like it is safe (outside of a last minute swap), but there was some chatter on here somewhere about it moving to an a380, which I guess is fine, but I would rather fly through IAH for the same price and more tier points if I am on the a380.

God I would love to see A380 at ORD....... Not sure if that would ever happen though given there may not be a market for it. That or, maybe there's fuel/load considerations, based on the DEN conversation happening.

It is a safe bet that the 'game changer' 77W will remain on ORD for the foreseeable future.

I was previously speculating we might see the A380 on ORD, but it appears the sequence of events I thought might occur are likely not going to pan out.

Some schedule changes have begun being loaded for summer 2026. I have only covered the period up to June 1, given schedules have a tendency of receiving frequent updates so far away.

B77W 4-class upgrades:
EK187/188 BCN upgraded to the 4-class 77W on Feb 1
EK430/431 BNE upgraded to the 4-class 77W on Mar 29
EK979/980 IKA upgraded to the 4-class 77W on Mar 29
EK057/058 DUS upgraded to the 4-class 77W on Jun 1

B77L 3-class deployments:
EK229/230 SEA downgraded to the 77L on Mar 29
EK099/100 FCO resumes on the 77L on Mar 29
EK101/102 MXP downgraded to the 77L on May 1

A359 deployments:
EK386/387 TPE upgraded to the 359 on Mar 29
EK099/100 FCO upgraded to the 359 on May 1
EK109/110 LCA/MLA downgraded to the 359 on Jun 1

The 4-class A380 schedules do not look to be finalized yet.

The booking system doesn't appear to be reflecting all these changes yet. I suspect as per usual, EK will only publish these changes as the timeline for A350 deliveries becomes more firm.

Aeroroutes published something in regards to B77L with specific note:

"At time this post goes to press, it is unknown whether the switch from 777-300ER to -200LR is a placeholder for the future flights to be operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft."

According to RingwayReports on Facebook, Emirates are ramping up to 5x flights a day to Manchester from 29th March. No idea on the flight numbers just yet, but both the additional flights will be operated by A350’s

Helsinki Airport's website showing Emirates flights to/from DXB as of Mar 29.

EK167 arriving at HEL at 1420
EK168 departing HEL at 1700

This would mean a ~0920 departure from DXB, with a ~0130 arrival back in DXB.

Of course, best to wait for an official PR from EK to confirm the actual date this service starts. But appears we are likely to see something in the next few months.

Does anyone know, when the changes to HEL (New flight) and DUS (Premium economy) are visible and bookalbe?

Neither HEL or Premium Economy to DUS is available to book as of now.

My guess is that EK will issue a press release after the Christmas and New Year holidays, so probably next week or the week after that.

DXB-SEA getting downgauged?

Just got the dreaded email that my September DXB to SEA flight has been down gauged to the two class 777-200. First to business.

Guess not enough F demand out of SEA….Back to routing through LAX.
