Code Share Flights

Hi everyone, I’m not sure about this one. I usually take EK to the US, but it’s just so long. United Airlines has a great offer – nearly half of EK going to LAX early next year. My question is, if I book on the United website and they’re using All Nippon Airways for codeshare do I still receive my miles, or is this just for United-operated flights only.

Are you hoping to earn to earrn to EK ffp or UA ffp?

In Star alliance ff earnings are based on the operating airline when an eligible operating airline.
The fare booking class does not always match 1:1 for marketing airline (flight number) to operating airline.
FFP's that are revenue based is another complication
So for a UA marketed flight - ANA operated flight you will earn as the ANA chart to UA ffp.

If it is an ANA operated flight then no you would not be able to earn EK miles.

Straight from the Emirates website and very clear:

You can earn Skywards Miles on United Airlines– or United Express–operated flights. Miles cannot be earned on other airlines’ codeshare flights.
