Ticket validity time.

My daughter has a job in Thailand starting in August 2025 to June 2026.

one way tickets are expensive and I can book an outbound on the 6th August returning on a the 3 December ( cheap date ) for Ł750.

the December date is " random "

the ticket has a Ł100 change fee and o wonders what emirates policy was on ticket validity ?

BA Is one year so in the example above if I booked it now I could only move it to a date in March not June.

I wondered If Emirates were more enlightened or if they had the same rules.

my ideal would be come December to move it to June 2026.

thank you.

I could be wrong, but I believe extending a ticket past 6 months significantly increases the fare difference in some cases.

Need a flex plus for 1 year validity and ease of change (no fee but could be a fare difference)

Maximum is one year validity so buying it now would mean she must return by March 2026 which is obviously not what you want. You'll have to wait until June 2025 before booking if you want to buy a return ticket,

I think (but I'm not 100% sure) that the validity is 1 year after this first flight. So if you book the outbound now for 6 August, you have to return before 5 August next year. I'll try to investigate when I have a bit of spare time, but maybe there are others who have current and valid knowledge?

I was on their chat. First they said I could do it and that if I booked the last possible date ( March 26 ) the change was free plus fare difference.

I then explicitly asked about the 1 year ticket validity and they said yes one year. So I then pointed out this was completely different to their first answer. They did not reply on this.

so still a slight mystery.
