Emirates redemption pricing behaviour

Do emirates skywards economy redemption booking ever go back down in price? Are they dynamically priced or are there a set number of lower priced redemptions and when they are gone they are gone?

I was looking to book 3 x emirates 5th freedom in economy from rio to buenos aires one way. I had found availability on my preferred date costing 10,000 skywards miles each. I needed to earn a couple of hundred more amex points to make the transfer to skywards for the redemptions. Two days later when I earned the amex points and was about to make the transfer, I checked and found the redemption price went up to 17,500. None of the other days around it have gone up (yet) and remain at 10,000.

Slightly tin foil hat time but would also like to ask if searching a route bumps up the price if anyone knows. I searched the desired date twice to check the pricing over two days and wonder if I pushed the price up because can't imagine 3 economy redemptions were made in the 48 hours I was looking at that date (now not even one economy seat is coming up at 10k).

Thanks for any insight.

On that route, an Economy Saver redemption is 10K miles, an Economy Flex+ redemption is 17.5K miles. The explanation therefore is that when you looked the second time, a few of the Economy Saver redemption tickets had been taken. Its always subject to availability of course. Would the algorithm make fewer seats available when there is more demand? Interesting thought, I would think not but its not entirely impossible, I guess. Is it a popular day to travel? School holidays etc. Try to search with a VPN activated so they cant see its you searching..

Thank you. I did try using a VPN but the website still wants me to login to view classic rewards. Is there a way around that?

Try with another device, through VPN and on an incognito browser.

The problem is (as Maccymac indicates) that you need to log into your Skywards account to see classic rewards. And therefore the system would know that you have looked before. I have never seen availability change as a result of that (and trust me, I have often done it), but in theory it is of course possible. The only way around would be try with another account (for instance I could try mrs t's account, I am her travel coordinator anyway).
