Upgrades with 2 legs
Hi all,
I’m about to book flights with emirates dub-Dubai-cpt. I’m booking economy with the hopes of upgrading at check-in. Do emirates give offers at checkin, I’ve never flown with them.
I’ve only ever upgraded this way with Qatar BUT they only offered upgrade for the first leg. Do emirates offer upgrades for the whole journey or similar like Qatar the first leg only.

The upgrade is by leg and only obtainable at the originating airport for each leg of the flight. For example I upgraded in Durban with miles for Durban to Dubai at check in but could not upgrade the next leg until Dubai. On arrival in the lounge in Dubai I asked if upgrades were available and was given a promotional upgrade (cash) for Dubai to JFK.
