Would JFK/IAD be your final destination or do you have a connecting flight anyway? If you haven't done it before and it's not too much of a pain, consider doing it, especially since it's a long route where you get to max it. The A380 suite will never look the same... :p It's pretty amazing.

OK this has essentially convinced me! IAD would be my final destination but the timing of that flight isn’t great for me with my previous connection out of Africa so would involve an extra overnight for me anyway. Backtracking a bit from ORD seems worth it!

I'm booked on EK405 in a few weeks.

Sadly 14 out of the last 90 flights, the gamechanger plane was subbed out for an older 777 :(

I will be on EK405 on 2nd March, and have been observing the same thing. I do like the GC F suites even though they are not as robust as the other A380 and non-GC B777 F suites, but it won't be a disaster if my flight is substituted.

However, Emirates must be getting some stick from disappointed and angry passengers who booked on 404/405 because they wanted to fly in a GC seat, and missed out because of a substitution.

The substitution happens on all routes except Chicago - With only 1 non game-changer in the last 90 days

A few days later we would have been on the same flight !

Yes F - Which is why I'll be disappointed if it's not the gamechanger!

Yep, I understand. Good luck! What day do you fly?

Sorry this hasn't worked out for you. I fly on the 7th but not holding my breath

Thanks. It's not a big deal. It just postpones some difficult things I have to do in Africa, so I'm not upset about the delay!

I do wish you good luck on 7th, although I have to say the signs aren't good. If I end up flying on the same day as you, we can meet up at the MEL lounge! Stay in touch.
