To further clarify, I do have this route currently booked ORD-DXB-HND in January, but a work conflict is forcing me to push it back a couple months. Just trying to suss out if there will be any reliable USA GC Suite routes from March onward, as it appears ORD loses it by the (according to Expertflyer seat maps)

Currently showing EK235 ORD as operating with the game changer suite in Summer 2025. Of course always subject to change.

True! I did recently notice this change, and booked DXB-ORD F in early April. Currently showing GC F on this route, but will continue to monitor it, and pivot if need be.

According to nonstopdan, apparently there will be no more game changer 777s, only the current 9?

This has been known for a while on the current fleet. With the A350 confirmed to be coming on without F, the next chance for "gamechanger" or any other new F suite to be added to an aircraft would be to new deliveries of the 777X which for all we know may never happen.

The new suites definitely don’t age well, agreed. I understand the preference for the suite, but maybe obsession is unproductive.

I think that has to be part of why EK stopped installing them at 9 aircraft. it seems almost more of a marketing ploy than a sustainable product, certainly not fleet wide. Honestly the newest refreshed A380 F is plenty good. I often get that on AKL-DXB or SYD-DXB and its fantastic.

I believe STC has suggested that the game changer will be on the 777Xs. Whether that’s correct, and whether it will be of similar build quality, is to be seen.

I don’t think it’s a ploy. I think they simply got screwed by Boeing’s issues.

If the Boeing desaster would not have happened we would have seen the majority of the initial 777-9 delivered by now with the same game changer product and at least 50% of the B77W's retired. There never was an intention to upgrade the 77W's with the game changer product in the first place as the majority of the fleet would have been retired by now. Since the Game Changer suite is also already soon 10 years since it was designed they sure have learned and if and once the 777-9's will arrive a simmilar product will be installed with improvements for longer durability etc where needed.

No
And from my experience on the EWR-ATH route, it was one of the older 777s with the smaller/older IFE screen and controller

Confirmed
newer 773 outbound last Friday
older 773 inbound last Sunday
no sign of GC on the horizon

Trying to decide between seats 2A and 2F on my ORD-DXB flight in July. While the virtual windows seem very cool, I do like the idea of the privacy in 2A and the binoculars as we fly over Europe during the daytime hours. Any thoughts on pros/cons of either? Thx

2A is by far the most private suite and my favourite. But I have never been able to use the binoculars over Europe because of total cloud cover. I have never swung it when the weather has been clear!

Good luck, and enjoy!

Virtual window was cool, but I moved to 1A and could see my neighbor when the door wasn't closed. Wife in 2A was better since the door for 2F is on the other aisle

Thanks - unfortunately, 2A is now occupied, but 2K is not currently. I'll stick with 2F unless 2K gets filled and I can then move to 1K which has no neighbor visible. Not sure if these flights fill up on the day with people upgrading with miles.

Hello all,
The press release below talks about certain flights with retrofitted cabins that include premium economy.....Does this mean these flights, especially EK 504/505 (DXB BOM DXB), will have the new GC F suites?

No unfortunately, there are an increasing number of refurbished 777s with the new J and PE products but the old F unfortunately (currently used on routes like STN, ICN, etc.).

P.S. I see Boeing have now publicly warned the 777X certification may slip to 2027 (not a surprise). I wish EK would just take the plunge and fit the Gamechanger F to some other 777s.
