Hand off lap infant between cabins

Hi flyertalk,

I've booked tickets for my family on Emirates this summer. My wife and I will be in F, my sister will be watching our older daughter sitting separately, I booked them in Y and am trying to upgrade to J with miles. We have a baby also who I need to ticket as a lap infant. My question is, can I add the baby to my sister's reservation to pay a lower ticket cost (10% of the cash fare, much less Y than F of course), so baby would be ticketed in Y or J depending on upgrade availability, and then bring the baby into the first class cabin with me and my wife? Anyone have insight into how accommodating Emirates might be with this?

Baby needs to be ticketed in the cabin in which he/she travels. I dont think EKwill allow child to swap between cabins and if you want child to travel with you in F then thats how it should be ticketed.

no chance you are bringing a baby into F without an F ticket, just pay the 10%.

In F you can move to J and the lounge or even visit y if you like but movement upward wont generally be permitted at all. Ive seen a y pax go to the bar for a quick drink but thats it.
