Baggage Allowance on EK Flight Ticketed on TP

Hi guys, trying to figure this out --

Bought a TP (TAP Portugal) ticket for TP6733 for LIS-DXB (operated by Emirates, EK 194).

My TP ticket says my baggage allowance is 23kg.

I have *A gold status (+20kg on *A flights) and EK gold status (+16kg on EK flights).

Called EK, they insist my baggage allowance is 20kg (not even 23kg as per the TP ticket).

Who is right? What I am missing?

PS I tried to cancel the TP ticket (EUR 110 penalty) and purchase EK but the fare difference is now EUR 800+.

Usually marketing carrier's allowance will apply, but it's unlikely that EK will honor *A status - so it looks like get to the airport early and talk to the EK staffer on duty and get them to apply EK gold allowance to it and insist (if needed) on the 3kg.

Best have a printout of the fare rules for the ticket.

Here's how it played out.

Got to LIS early, used Business Class check-in counter as EK Gold.

Agent weighed my bag, told me it was 30kg and I was only allowed 20kg.

I said I had EK Gold so I should get +16kg.

She said she could 'see my gold status' but then when she checked further, it was my TK *A FQTV (which I intentionally did on my TAP booking). It was weird that my TK *A Gold status ported over (and didn't give me any other benefits) and that's also why she 'allowed' me to use the BC counter even without seeing/knowing about my EK status. I'm still pretty confused about this.

I asked her to change my FQTV to EK and it automatically changed the baggage allowance to 36kg (20kg + 16kg) on her screen. My BP had both the EK and TP flight numbers. And I was able to use Fast Track at LIS too.

So I guess all's well that ends well.
