Glasgow to BKK

My wife and I have decided to try Emirates after a long break of 8 years, this was after years of gold status and after the points dilutions on cheap tickets, we decided to use other companies .

So we have decided to give Emirates a try and shocked to see their high prices of those twin seats.

I guess the twin seats won't be available on check 48 hours before the flight unless you pay?

We are not flying until August, but I did a couple of dummy bookings for a Wednesday flight in may and the plane still as lots of seats available, so I wonder if the Glasgow flights are not full loads and even the Bangkok flight has plenty of seats available

Basically I am wanting to know if there is going to be a selection of seat choice on these flights if I select them during online check in.

I may pay for the seat from Dubai to Bangkok in a preferred seat since we have an internal flight and need to be down the front to save time

On a positive note, I was gold for a number of years and I had an amazing experience with many free upgrades and flights using miles

ON a added note, if you want a preferred seat during online check in, do you have to pay for these !

You can choose these seats without charge once online checkin begins. Way too far out to know flight loads but August isnt particularly high season for BKK. I dont think these seats are worth paying for but they are ok if you can grab them. Also bare in mind if you book upstairs there is a good chance the rear economy section will be blocked out. If this is the case ask to move there once you are on board. Most of the time the crew wont mind.

*I have assumed you are talking about a 2 class a380 as opposed to a 777? If you are upstairs on a 2 class you disembark before J.

Thank you for your reply, I have 4 legs on the a380, the 380 Dubai to Bangkok have the twin seats upstairs, the Glasgow flights don't.

It would be interesting to know how many customers upgrade and pay for seats since it can work out expensive for 2 people travelling and the money could be spent on something better.
