Emirates Point Cancellation Help
I need to cancel an Emirates award trip booked with non-expired points. My main goal is to rebook and split an itinerary for two people so I can't just change the flight. I just need the points refunded. I am currently unable to get ahold of anyone at Emirates by phone. I see I can manage my booking online, however, I have a few questions. The request a refund section allows me to process a refund for Skywards miles. It states the following."If you paid for your ticket using Skywards Miles or Business Rewards Points, we will refund any applicable taxes except for partially used tickets or tickets you paid for using a combination of Cash+Miles. To refund Skywards Miles or Business Rewards Points (if they have not yet expired), please pay the cancellation fee applicable for your ticket at your local Emirates office."
Now onto the questions.
How long has it taken others for the points refund to take place?
Do I actually need to pay any cancellation fees?
Any other tips to help a smooth process would be helpful. Thank you.

Pretty much instant, but phone them instead of filling out the form - how long are you waiting in the queue for?
Do I actually need to pay any cancellation fees?
Not if your ticket fare is a Flex (check first) which I presume it will be (or a flex plus)
Bearing in mind that your points will be refunding with the same expiry date in which they had before being used.

Does anyone have a link to the cancellation fees? I can't seem to find them at all. Emirates just says go to manage your booking, but this is not possible if you just want to know what the fees are before making a Skywards booking in the first place.
