Question First time flying first class - one question. And any tips?

So because of the pandemic, I accumulated a bunch of American Express points and I was able to upgrade my SEA to DXB flight to first class for this week. I have never flown in first class and probably won't fly first again - at least in the near future.

I have one question: flight leaves after 5pm, which means I'm going to sleep part of it. Since everything is "on demand," should I ask the FA to wake me up for breakfast? I don't want to wake up while we're landing.

Also, besides the often mentioned wine, is there any other tips you have?

Book yourself an on-board shower - preferably about 1 - 2 hours before landing. That solves your dilemma about being woken and it really refreshing at the end of a long trip. Everything is truly 'on demand' but if you have any special requests on the menu let the crew know to save it for you. For a 'first First' you are about to have an amazing experience, enjoy!

I wish! It's the 777-300ER, so no showers.

Thanks!

On the 77W I would recommend seat 2A or 2K if you're traveling alone.
On a flight with that timing I'd probably have dinner after departure, relax for a bit, then go to sleep. You can certainly ask the FA to wake you whenever you want. FYI if you don't wake up to their knocking on the door, they can open the door from a button in the closet as well.
Have a great flight!

Thanks for the tip. Any reason why 2K is better than, say, 1K?

Row 2 is generally better than row 1 because you are further away from the galley.
Row 1 is perfectly fine, but row 2 is preferable.

Agree - Row 1 is noisy - not just the FA talking to each other - but, the rattling of cutlery etc etc.,

5Pm flight - you have plenty of time to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine, dinner and a movie before going to sleep .......

Suites in 2A/K are slightly bigger than 1A/K.

On the 380, yes. On the 77W there is no difference as far as I have observed.
Agree that row 2 is possibly slightly quieter than row 1, but we are now splitting hairs.

Have fun! Don't get caught up in what someone else's experience was. Comparison is the thief of joy.

Good to know. First time, though. It's not like my work cafeteria has caviar on a daily basis.

I actually like the 777 more than the a380 in F! Smaller cabin, more quiet, better service IMO.

Enjoy the "swag" at your seat-all of the goodies in the basket, the pen, notebook and other items in the "dashboard" so to speak. Save some space in your carryon for that stuff.

Hope you get to enjoy the F lounge in DXB-next level wonderful! Do check to see if the showers are open in either the F or Business lounge and if your connection time permits get a reservation.

Hope you arrive with sufficient time to use their spa service-sadly I have not been able to avail myself of that freebie but the food in the lounge is really good! Do keep your boarding pass from your F flight in case you are connecting on Business to another airport. Hopefully that will grant you access?!
Have a wonderful "fling"!

Would it be normal First suite or the Game Changer one?

Normal one is great, newer one is even better.

It's the normal one I think.

One dumb question - does Emirates have any attire requirements for first class? I'm planning on jeans, sneakers, and a t-shirt. Is that frowned upon? I'm flying tomorrow.
