With Expo 2020 in Dubai right around the corner, I am surprised Emirates has not added the DXB-DOH route back to the network. The blockade has been over for nine months and international air traffic is picking up. It would be nice to see some competition for QR on the route!

My understanding is that there have been some Covid related capacity restrictions imposed which has restricted the number of seats that can be sold between the two cities. I suppose the powers at be decided it was most economical to use FZ instead of EK on the route. FlyDubai just recently started their third daily frequency (FZ005), I see that QR will shortly add a third daily flight too.
