Advice on using expiring miles

Hi,

I have about 75,000 miles that will expire by the end of this month. Ideally, I'd like to use them for travel on Emirates in an upper cabin. The problem is that I'm based in TLV.

I was hoping that Emirates will launch its TLV route soon, and that award buckets will be available, but this hasn't happened yet. If this won't be possible, what should be my course of action?
  • Should I book award travel departing, say, AMM or CAI or LCA, in the hope of being able to change the departure airport to TLV once these flights begin? Is such a change even possible?
  • Or should I settle instead for cheap awards on EasyJet later next year? This seems like a pretty poor value for miles, isn't is?
  • Any other ideas I should consider?
Thanks a lot for your help,

Shuly

Your Skywards points should automatically be extended, so no need to panic just yet.

From : https://www.emirates.com/ae/english/...ywards-status/

Extending Miles validity

We’ve extended the validity of any Skywards Miles due to expire from April 2020 until 31 March 2021. Skywards Miles can be redeemed up to 11 months in advance for an extensive range of rewards, including flight tickets on Emirates and partner airlines, flight upgrades, hotel stays, and money-can’t-buy experiences.

Please note: Details of this relaxed policy may not immediately reflect in the ‘My Account’ section of emirates.com. Your revised tier review date will be updated in the month of your existing review date.

We’re coming up with more ways to support you at this time, so keep your contact details up to date.

Wow! I wasn't aware of that -- thank you!
Do we know until when points validity is extended?

I haven't done the calculations recently but when easyJet first became an option I worked out the value was similar to that of upgrades on EK metal, so pretty good as far as Skywards miles go.
