Going Daily with the A380 to Glasgow; I expect the same move for Boston.

Getting ready to fly DXB-DME and booked the A380 (EK131) but looks like equipment has changed to the 777 until Jan 30...I wonder if this is a long term change (and the schedule for after Jan 30 just has not been updated yet), or just a temporary 1 week thing - any inputs? My flight is in Feb but I am guessing if EK sees they can meet the demand with the 777, they'd probably want to continue with it (especially since Feb is generally a slower month for DXB-DME).

Expert Flyer shows 388 from 30 January onwards.

Right. That’s what I said.

Maybe EK decided to try out 777 for now but as Jan 30 draws closer, they might switch to only 777 after Jan 30, also. Who knows?

If demand is only sufficient to fill up a 777 in late January, I feel like the likelihood of it going up, enough to justify a 380, in February is quite low.

Also, I think they used to seasonly switch to only 777 before, but that was during the summer season.

SIN has just lost, or is about to lose, its Brisbane tag on so probably keeping up numbers to/from there.

Edit. Losing the BNE tag on didn't reduce DXB-SIN flights so that's not the reason.

It could be the reason as EK needs to fill a few more seats on the long haul segment.
Importantly EK needs to start opening up new secondary dests in anticipation of arrival of smaller aircraft, they are now well behind competitors inc QR, EY, TK.

It makes it easier to avoid the B777 on the DXB legs this way
