Upgrading a friend using my points in return for cash

I´m just curious to see how you guys interpret the Skywards t&c´s on this one.
If I use my points to upgrade a friend on one of his bookings in return for cash. Say 1 cent pr mile just to pick a number.
Would you see that as illegal or within the terms?

Yes, but hardly an issue if the friend doesn't volunteer the story to EK

It would not be a violation if you voluntarily upgraded your friend out of the goodness of your heart and your friend gave you a cash gift at approximately the same time.

I like your thinking. :P
Now all I need to do is find someone with 300000 miles to spare.

Moderator Note

Folks

This thread has been reviewed by the moderator team and it has been decided that it will be closed.

The OP has had a couple of answers to his question, however, we cannot be seen to encourage the breaking of EK Skywards membership rules, in particular 9.18 https://www.emirates.com/uk/english/...mme-rules.aspx

It would also be prudent to point out Flyertalk rules https://www.flyertalk.com/help/rules.php#commercial when it concerns any hint of trading within the forum.

Thank you for your understanding.
