EK 418
Hi, my wife and I are booked on EK418 DXB-BKK in J departing on 10th Feb. When selecting our seats on booking which we made many months ago, the seat map was the A380. It now shows a 777. Can anyone confirm the aircraft type on this route? We originally selected 9E & 9F which on the 777 are not our preferred seats and all other seats are showing unavailable. Appreciate any information.

Six flights daily when you include the ones that go on (one to HKG as well as this one to SYD) EK370, 372, 374, 376, 384 and 418 are the outbounds. They also seem to chop and change between B777 and A380, 2 class and 3 class a lot, perhaps seasonally. Same as the OP, I'm on EK418 soon and was surprised to see it was a B777, but I've got 7J so happy enough with that.

Ek418 bkk - syd (11/02/2019)
I’ve just bought two business class tickets from BKK - Sydney for tomorrow and apparenly Row 6 is completely blocked by the “Airport authority”. Has anyone experienced this before?
At the moment, neither of us are even sitting beside each other which is ridiculous for Emirates

It is quite common for airlines to block seats until so many hours before a flight.
At present 6ABEFJK are blocked. All other seats are occupied.
Have you rung EK asking about being seated together?

Thanks @WLGBASE - I have called emirates and they said they have added a note to the booking. As silver members, I expected the seats to be released but Emirates claim only the airport check in desk can open these.
Looks ike I will be arriving 3 hours early for this one.

Yes those are bassinet seats and blocked until airport check-in. Try via the app to change your seats around T-5 or T-6 and you may be able to then select them. This is standard across the entire EK network and the call centre really cannot do anything about it

When booking a day ahead of flying it's not surprising that seats are not available together, definitely not ridiculous. Fortunately the blocked seats will be made available at the airport and Bangkok often has an early check in desk open so get there in plenty of time.
