Anyway to Obtain a Quick 250 Skywards Miles?

I am looking to book a miles upgrade on an EK ticket, but it costs 42250 miles. Is there any way to receive 250 miles from something like a shopping portal or referal program to avoid sending an extra 1000 AMEX points.

IME those small numbers of miles from third parties can take a long time to credit...

Might be better just to purchase 1000 online?

I could always transfer 43,000 AMEX points instead of 42,000, just don't foresee myself using the leftover 750 EK miles.

Rent a car or hotel stay are your best bets then. I personally would just buy them

Rocket miles non-refundable booking, or transfer if you have from SPG, they used to allow transfers that aren't multiples of 1000 I think (though there may be a minimum)

Honestly I'd say just buy them directly from EK ($30 USD for 1000 miles) if you'd prefer to not spend your Amex MR.

Agreed, most efficient and probably cost effective.

Call Skywards and ask them to book it over the phone for you and let you go into the negative by 250 points. I have done this before.

Called Skywards but they wouldn't allow me to book it and go into negative. Maybe they would do it for someone with status, but not us lowly blues :/
