Flying Emirates Business tonight from EWR to ATH - will we have priority through security?

99% certain you will. I've only done BA and UA from EWR, and I got priority when in business.

Either way, security at EWR will take a long time. Make sure to allow :45 minutes to get through the line in any case. The 40 year old terminal was not designed with multiple wide body departures in mind.

Indeed... I seem to recall there are 3 security checkpoints. If one looked to busy, I'd wander down to the next which generally wasn't as bad.

i think thats only in the newer terminal C that was designed as a hub terminal from the beginning. In A and B (EK is in B, and usually use gate 62) you have to use the checkpoint for your individual rotunda.

Only TSA Pre lite at Terminal B. Even those flying J will have to wait on long lines. I am sure the OP has experienced this already.

EWR has the longest security queues ive ever experienced (45 - 60 mins minimum). Even with fast track i found it fed into the top of the regular queue which was so backed up that it meant fat track was only marginally faster than the regular queue.

Unless you are in Pre-Check any "priority" you have will be close to meaningless in any event. Don't make your judgments about which checkpoint to use based on that.

Curious: Does Terminal B have those annoying new bag scanner bins and lanes (like in Terminal C) that only let you put one bin at a time? I find them to be vastly inferior and keep slowing me down, because even suitcases have to go in a bin.

All DXB concourses (well at least A, B and C) have these scanners.

The DXB lanes are different - there is no systematic shortage of bins. So while you do have to place carry-on suitcases in their bins, the lane design does not limit you to only placing one bin in at a time.

This is unlike the Newark system, where you have to keep waiting until you get a bin, you can only take one bin at a time, and then you have to wait again to simply push your bin onto the conveyor belt.
