Can EK change J seats without informing the passenger ?

I had selected a A seat in J on EK 18 ( A380) for a trip in late Augist and they have moved me to a B seat without informing me :-(

looks like they have changed it to a 2 class from a 3 class .B seats are the worst seats in J on the A380 IMHO.

Can EK do this without informing the passenger ? I suspect there might be something hidden in the T&C.

On previous occasions when they did an aircraft swap they had always informed me .

Yes, it can.

There is nothing "hidden" in the contract to which you agreed. It is very open about the fact that seat assignments are not guaranteed.

One way or another, you have now found out. So, what is it that you want?

I have always been sent an email in such a case in nearly 10 years of flying EK . Did not happen this time. Have they stopped sending the emails now?
I have not flown EK for well over a year though.

EK can change the seats of any passengers in any cabin it wants without informing them, that’s what seat assignments aren’t guaranteed means.

I've never seen an email informing a pax of a seat change, only flight changes.

Either way, just change it now. Monitor seat map and you'll get an A seat

Seat choices are not guaranteed

Never seen emails advising of seat changes either - unless it was an equipment change which also affected the booked cabin class e.g. booked into F and AC changed to a 2-class one.

If there's no A seat available to choose online, call EK as some may be blocked.

Yes, however dissapointing it may be when it slams you, it's only a seat request.

I wonder what are the T&C when you pay for a preferred seat in Y though.
