Purchasing Baggage

Hi all

I was wondering how much it would cost to purchase around 200kg baggage Emirates from Shanghai to Karachi.

I have a few upcoming books later this year but it wont allow me to calculate additional baggage so wondering if anyone has any ideas or experience.

Thanks

Have you tried the calculator at https://www.emirates.com/au/english/...alculator.aspx ?

It seems to be that you can purchase 25kg in advance for USD600
Extra baggage at airport seems to be USD30 per kg

Based on an economy allowance of 30kg, the remaining 170kg (for a total of 200) would seem to be USD4350 ; 200kg extra baggage over ticketed allowance would seem to be USD5850

Would you really want to do this as baggage? I would have thought it can be done as freight at a fraction of the cost.

Thanks peeps, much appreciated.

Freight is not an option (although easier and much cheaper).

What about as freight on the same flights? Could try get a quote from EK for that (or from a decent freight forwarder/agent). I've had freight shipped before with exact details of which flights they'd be on

If the airline accepts the extra load, it's still a LOT of bags considering that each cannot weight more than 32kg... I hope the OP can rely on some portering service on departure and arrival!
