Adding Checked Luggage at a Dubai Stopover

Hi Everyone,

I'm planning to fly AAA-DXB-BBB on one ticket and with a less than 24 transit in Dubai. I'll check in one bag at AAA through to BBB and I'll exit the airport at Dubai. I'll acquire another bag to check in Dubai, as I am allowed 2 bags on this routing, can I additionally add it in Dubai? Has anyone done this before?

Should be absolutely fine, am sure I've read reports of this previously, the IT should be able to do it without problem. Just a note on terminology, that's a transit not a stopover. A stopover is >24h

I've never done it - but I can't see it being an issue. It's always possible to short check bags on connections, so people will be checking in bags all the time part way through their itinerary.

I've done this before. I got out with a cabin luggage, gave gifts to friends in Dubai, bought some creme / liquids and checked them in for the ongoing leg. No problem at all.

Ive done this quite a few times actually. Gone shopping in Dubai on an 8 hour stopover and had to buy a suitcase to check in all the stuff i bought. No one batted an eyelid when i turned up at DXB to check in the extra bag.
