What’s on your notes?

So I had a little nosey at my profile on the pursers tablet yesterday

my life time EK miles are 1.8 million (not bad in 5 years when I don’t travel for work)

apparently i like dom Perignon and loves dom rose

also a big fan of napa wines like the mascot 2009

oh and I like the sheepskin blanket as well as a duvet

🙂

sydtogla Feb 2, 2018 9:37 pm

Ha! I was shown mine last year too after the purser took pity on me being rebooked on my connection:
  • Find aisle access if not already seated there
  • Preference for French reds
  • Espresso and OJ before breakfast service after sleeping
  • Very friendly, please give great service (Majid)
I'd say I can tell that someone has read this about 80% of the time. I reckon I have so many because pursers really take notice of certain pax on the ULH routes ex-AU.

That can't be right surely... !

That's over 500 trips to Manchester!

Just checked my travel, and I've done 860K miles in 484 sectors since 2005.

I do like the attention to detail there. And - more importantly - the fact that you can see the benefits in action on a regular basis ^

Maybe it's Skywards miles, not BIS or tier miles?

Definitely interested to see mine but I think in Y there might not be any notes

Or maybe just one word ..... ??

Cheapskate

(just my little joke, btw ..... you’ve probably saved a small fortune down the back :D)

Saltire74 Feb 3, 2018 4:45 am

I would imagine mine to be something like:

1.Snores loudly, turn him on his side when he starts
2.Farts in his sleep. Caution when doing number 1.
3,Gets paranoid when there’s a bit of ice outside. Just humour him - https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/emir...port-crew.html

correct -skywards miles.

i was getting 50k plus per f trip. They can see spend across y j and f.

extramileage Feb 3, 2018 10:08 am

Wonder if some notes are less than flattering :p

Flame3601 Feb 3, 2018 10:29 am

You know what good question, i have never asked what is on my notes. However i have had two pursers mention on separate occasions that i prefer traveling by myself, which i did not really take into account , but thinking at the time a bit strange they would mention something like that. This is probably on my note file, will try to find out next time.

ghostwrita Feb 3, 2018 12:07 pm

I’m onboard and I’ve just asked nicely to see mine. Purser mumbles something nervously about not being able to see it or connect.

Presumably, then, mine says generally grumpy, and likes to be left alone.

thijsseh Feb 4, 2018 2:42 am

Does every Skywards member have this ‘notes’ page on their profile? Or is it for a certain tier and above?
Forgive my ignorance, but this is the first time I have heard about it.
Surely the purser can’t check the notes for every Blue member in Y....

I'm sure they can add or view notes for any Skywards member, but a Blue member in Y will have much less interaction with crew and thus less likely to have any notes. That's why I wonder if I have any, 3rd year as Gold, maybe 40-50 flights in J, about 100 in Y, 2 in F, Not Sure if I ever got enough attention to warrant a note, I usually keep to myself

sydtogla Feb 4, 2018 3:47 pm

Sample note for non frequent flier:

'Travels once every three years in Y. Likes to ask for extra pizza slices on ULH flights and free upgrades.'

Essentially 92% of EK pax then. Yawn.

Surely your 'notes' should at least mention your diplomatic status on FT ;)

I'd be scared if EK knew, as I've certainly never told them

I'm sure they're very capable of knowing who is who.

How many Gold members who fly almost exclusively Y, based in CPT? And those are just very obvious pointers. If one goes more carefully through skywardhunter’s posts, there will be lots of other giveaways. Just like for quite a few others.
So, yes, I agree with you, ElJudioErrante.
If EK is actually interested in doing this is entirely another matter!

100%. I've accidentally posted screenshots of my account with my name not blanked out until someone else pointed it out and I edited the post, I've sent EK links to FT threads with suggestions for improvements via Twitter DM, I've shared specific flight and seat numbers which would allow EK to just look at a manifest. But I doubt they're proactively doing this, thus I doubt there is any actual link recorded on EK systems. It's something I've wondered about many times.

As to how many CPT based Golds who fly mostly Y, probably more than a handful. Also I was based in HYD for a long time buying tickets originating from there, and have also bought lots of ex-JNB tickets, so that might throw them off.

Metanoia Feb 5, 2018 10:48 am

What if you fly using a non-Skywards number? Guessing no notes for me? Or is there an alternate way to identify people?

Unlikely. The offers EK sends to my email address registered for my skywards account are economy (befitting what is now blue status). They seem oblivious to my frequent travels on EK in first and business under QF and other FFPs.

In your account preferences you can specify your preferred class of service. It's probably as simple as being based on that.

Notes are for everyone - but the Purser tablet is only really going to have Skywards pax on it and even then, it may not have the full "pax special profile" on it :D

ioto1902 Feb 7, 2018 12:45 pm

Are those notes supposed to be confidential, or can it be given to pax ?

Supposed to be confidential, I would expect - but given EK and the UAE's attitude toward information security you'd probably only get it clamped down on after a few firings...

SimpleDXB Feb 9, 2018 1:39 am

Notes are for ALL passengers, regardless of whether Skywards members and/or with or without status.

If a pax (no skywards / no status) is difficult or has a problem on a flight / has a birthday / loses something etc etc then notes can be added and attached to that passenger to forewarn others about behaviour and/or give chance for service recovery. Your behaviour will follow you.... and crew can determine when such notes expire.

EK is not alone in implementing this system.

The majority of passengers (and Skywards members) seldom have many notes unless they're complete .......s or unless they've suffered a service issue. Things like drink preference etc and aisle / window preference are all recorded in Skywards account page.

UAEBANDIT Feb 9, 2018 5:47 am

Omg, I would hate to see my husbands. He is the King of Complaints. Yikes! He literally moans if it takes them over 10 mins to bring his water. I'm cringing thinking about it.

Will08 Feb 9, 2018 6:12 am

It would be great if the notes contained a running total of the amount of flights you have taken. That way when some obnoxious z begins his complaint even before take off with the usual "do you know how many times I have flown with EK?" the FA can calmly reply with "yes, this is only your second time and we know you are flying on a cheap email upgrade...."

Ha! I'd probably do ok on that stat, lots of flights to maintain Gold in Y...

They do - pax who complain frequently, especially about the same thing, are going to see diminishing returns, both on any service recovery and speed of response...

I don't recall changing any settings and used to get EK offers for first and business only.

XXTSGR Feb 25, 2018 4:26 am

So I asked the friendly purser on today's flight about the notes and he was more than happy to share my profile with me - and add/update it together!

Nothing exciting recorded apart from the stuff that I had myself entered online.

So have added some personal preferences e.g. No nuts, red wine in a carafe, black coffee, Paradis and chocolates after dinner etc.

Lets see if it works!

Luckily, the 'incident' box was completely empty...

ioto1902 Feb 25, 2018 9:45 am

Aha !So, there is an "incident" box ...

There is indeed. Most of the profile/notes is displayed in small boxes (8 or 9) on one screen - pax name, status, next [connecting?] flights (including class of travel), general preferences, general interest [the nonsense from Skywards - e.g. golf, horse racing], purser' comments, incidents [which I presume means pax getting into trouble, fights, drunken behaviour etc.] and others I can't remember.

mileshound May 12, 2018 11:12 am

I've flown on Emirates only once on an award ticket that was redeemed under someone else's account for a flight in F. When they made the reservation I do not recall if there was place to enter my skywards account number. Would I have a profile and would it follow me to my next reservation? There were no major issues on the flights but some minor ones. I can see how it might follow from flight #1 to flight #2 (I saw crew difference on flight #2 but that may be coincidental) but am curious if it may be "permanent" since I have another flight coming up.

They've probably shared this information with other airlines/FFP also. So your reputation will follow you no matter where and how you fly.

If there wasn't a Skywards number associated and you didn't register an account you won't have one. Theoretically they could still identify you from name DOB and passport number

This is getting interesting. I went back to the confirmation email of my flights and it has my name but the skywards number of my friend's account who used their miles for my ticket. I will be traveling with my friend later this year. Neither of us have traveled on Emirates since my incident. We will be in F later this year. What are the odds that the conversation starts "we are sorry for.....". I do not want my friend blindsided but I also do not want them to know about the issue.
