Damaged Baggage Compensation
Hi. Emirates completely damaged by bag on my way from Dubai to Lahore. My American Tourister bag ripped to shreds and broken and leaked contents arrived on the belt in a plastic bag instead. I filed a complaint and subsequent claim immediately and handed over my broken items and the bag skeleton to the Lahore team who promptly closed my case and shifted it to Dubai after I told them that I do not want the fake Flimsy second hand bags they were offering me, telling me Dubai will get in touch regarding monetary compensation. It has been 7 days since , I have tweeted, called Lahore and Dubai offices as well as emailed Emirates and still no one is telling me what and how will I get compensation!
They keep saying someone will get in touch and nobody does. Im stressed and dont know what to do . It feels like they will not give me any compensation. Anyone who has had an experience with this who can tell me what is the compensation. Bag or money or nothing?

Emirates should cover the price of replacing the bag and contents up to a limit. See the following for details :-
Baggage delayed? Free stuff! - Montreal Convention - Don't Call the Airline!
As you've seen, EK customer service is not the best (unless you are a regular flyer). So, it may be better to go through your travel insurance (if you have it), and just leave it up to them to sort it with Emirates.
If you don't have insurance, just keep pestering via the various channels until you get a response.

7 days is not that long of a time in terms of the airline system churning through the claim. It's frustrating as a passenger but EK will likely respond after 2-3 weeks. You should buy a new bag and send EK the invoice/receipt as proof for reimbursement. You might get some miles as compensation
