No show query
I find myself in a situtation where the overall change fee to the return leg of an existing ticket from DXB-XXX would cost significantly more than the difference between a new LHR-DXB ticket and multistop LHR-DXB-XXX ticket.
As I need to fly LHR-DXB anyway, it makes more financial sense just to book the new LHR-DXB-XXX ticket and not fly the existing return leg DXB-XXX.
I have no doubt that I would find some use for the return leg DXB-XXX at some point where the change fee is cheaper. At the moment it's sigificantly more expensive as saver tickets are sold out on the proposed new date of travel. However, right now, I don't know what date that would be.
Presumably if I no show, I can pay the no show penalty and fare difference (if any) at a later stage to rebook. Providing this is done within the validity period of the ticket, could I call to rebook say a few months later after missing the flight? Or is there a time limit on rebooking after a no show?
Hope the above makes sense.
