Unhappy Bumped off

I was bumped off EK038 to Dubai from Birmingham last night voluntarily and dealt with extremely well. I just am worried about tonight as seems flight is full again and I can't choose seat or anything. Was also offered upgrade to business from Dubai to Auckland and since I can't check in online can't take advantage of this offer. What is best to do in this situation?

If they involuntarily bumped you off, you could have had 600 EUR!

That said, upgrade to business to AKL would be tempting enough to go for that instead - if you do have that offer, it should appear in your profile, so the ticketing desk should be able to sort you out at the airport if they can't do it over the phone.

I've got a free return ticket to anywhere in the world valid for 3 years as compensation, since this is the longest route they do, so I'm able to use it for any sort of travel. Fine by me! Thank you for advice, will check at the airport. Very tempting, such a long flight. Hope it's still there!

Does anyone know how to tell if bumped up is an option?

if econ cl is more than full, then pax will get upgraded to bus cl (if available), and similar happens from bus cl.to first (if available).that's the norm. Looking at seat availability and if possible the seat map usually gives one a good idea

Could you please elaborate on that - how a passenger could get EUR 600 compensation for a Dubai - Birmingham EK-operated flight?
