Emirates Skywards Password Reset
I just got prompted to reset my password online this morning while trying to login to Skywards. I've just returned home from an overseas trip so was accessing from our home laptop, and not my work laptop or iPad which is how I usually access my FF accounts. It's the first time I've been prompted to do this by EK.
As such, I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience recently, or worse still, had their Skywards account 'hacked'? Perhaps EK are actively upping their online privacy/security settings, courtesy of more traffic through emirates.com and/or increases in the number/severity of perceived cyber threats?

Yes I have just had to reset my password which I did. Had a lot of problems getting back in again. I have just reset it again. Hopefully will have a better experience now. I was trying to book seats on four flights. Took forever.

Nothing for me, for those who had to change it, how long ago previously had you changed it? I changed mine about 6 months ago. If there was a breach perhaps it occurred 1-2 years ago and they only discovered it now but are only forcing resets on accounts with passwords that haven't been changed since

Nothing from my side , account since 2013 with no password changes. I wonder if this could be regionally issued , noticed the first two posters are located in the Australia region , not sure about Zol/Jah718 thou. Picked up a few reports of hacks of BA Exec club account recently within the BA forum in the last two months , mainly caused by people connecting to dodgy internet networks then going and logging into their FFP accounts , most were doing this in airport lounges. HK was the last location i believe this happened that i can remember.

I have not had anything and logged in fine this morning to check for upgrade availability.
I think the worst one that truly annoyed me is when paypal said my password was too basic and it could be easily hacked. I dont think a password such as "6azXkwQ6tR2YBs6y" is basic at all.

First time that I've changed my password in 3 years. It's actually the first time that I've been prompted across any of my FF/Hotel/Rental Car accounts to re-set my password.

I have a theory...
My previous password had special characters ($ & * etc.).
When I tried to register a new password with special characters, the password was refused, and the message said that special characters were not allowed.
So, maybe only people with special characters in their passwords are being forced to change?
Great work EK... forcing people to have less secure passwords

Same reset required for me - really unhelpfully just before a flight. The app doesn't tell you any detail, just doesn't let you in.
Then, as I was locked out, on board wifi wouldn't let me log in! It suggests to try again or if it doesn't work log in as a guest, however once you click the 'guest' option - you can't go back to the skywards login - no matter what I tried!
So epic Wifi fail for me yesterday
oh well, I drank instead!
