Big price jump from EK
Was planning my travel arrangement from GRU X SIN this week, and was very surprised by the cost of J tix from EK.
Best I could find on Skyscanner (one way) was TK at US$4,174, and EK was like US$8,243!!
Did something changed recently that I don't know about?

What's With These Prices?
Hi All
Was looking at the possibility of bringing my wife to the UK from Indonesia in December instead of me doing all of the travelling for once. Have finally got my first Christmas off in 10 years and thought it would be good to spend it at home with my mum and get to spend time with my niece and nephew at Christmas.
I was was looking specifically at EK as this is the easiest option for my wife who although is not daft when it comes to travel, has not done so for a few years, and it would make things a lot easier with minimal transit and of course, the added benefit of immigration at GLA.
Imagine my surprise when I checked flight prices this morning and the lowest for December was from £1553.93 for practically all dates in December .
No Saver fares published when viewing flights for any selected dates. Are these likely to appear? Think it might be me doing the travelling again at these prices and I can get J on OW for not much more ex EU plus positioning flights.

I know EK have got to get the balance right in the current climate but Indonesia doesn't have a rich population so cannot see their justification with prices like this.
To coin a good Scottish saying- "these prices are dead pure mental".

Likelihood of Savers appearing? I think you know as much as we do in that regard.
Starting a new thread on this topic perhaps a little unnecessary given the multiple recent discussions:

I have two trips between SYD and GLA at the end of the year.
My first is Y Flex+ round trip: £1499, but it's 20-30 Nov.
The second is Y Flex mid Dec: £1474.00
Sadly it's just that time of year...

What added benefits does GLA bring to immigration?
Surely they don't operate a different immigration policy to the rest of the UK?
Christmas is peak travel time. I wouldn't expect to see price drops until they discover that their sales are way below forecast levels.

Shorter walk to passport control and a 5 minute wait instead of e.g. LGW/LHR where you have hordes of people blocking access and 4 officers for non-EU!
