Yes generally (the normal loo at the back of F is UR1) is locked to stop J pax going in.

There are usually at least 2/3 crew members sat there at all times though.

The last leg back to Manchester looked like it was on an older model A380 as the ICE system seemed different and the seat seemed narrower around the shoulders when laid down. I also think the foot hole was narrower on the A380 from BKK-DXB.
May be because the seats are not identical depending on the column you sit in. A, K and the seats ideal for couples have more leg room than the others. Not sure about the narrower at the shoulders bit but possible.

This is far better policed than on QF. Have gone downstairs from J many times but aside from the space the experience is nothing special.

I don't know but I wouldn't sit/stand outside of the toilets in a pub either . Perhaps between the two J cabins and have the bar right at the back? I'm sure those in the know may understand why this layout was chosen. Either way I'm not a big drinker during a flight and can be anti-social at the best of times so was happy to stay in my seat.

One FA is constantly within eye distance to this lav (although not on purpose). Therefore, they know if there is someone inside or not.
The only time it is not under supervision, is during boarding when FA are overloaded with tasks (all the welcome service among others).

"Annoying" is quite an euphemism.

Some may say that the ratio is not bad : 3 loos for 14 pax (versus 4 for 76J, and 9 for 399Y ...), but when 2 pax are taking a shower, it is 1 loo for 12 pax. As the shower is per 30 minutes slot, it can be so during 3,5 hours, and more if some pax shower 2 times.

Didn't think they'd let you do that.

We're flying J class with EK, BHX-DXB-KUL on A380, previously flown J class with QR on B787

1st time on A380, so, just curious, if I've understood the A380 seat plan correctly on Seatguru, J class is on the upper deck at the rear of the plane, given the seat location, are we liable to be last to vacate the aircraft?

Also, we've selected seats 7J & 8K, are there any particular seats we should consider?

It depends a bit on whether it's a 2 class or 3 class A380.

If 3 class, then there will be a maximum of 12 F passengers that exit before the J passengers.

If 2 class, then there are some Y passenger at the front. Not sure how many, but maybe around 60?

There are 2 exits - one on each deck.

F has 14. No idea how many y seats but I bet it's more than 60!

J class occupies three quarters of the upper deck.
If accessed from the upper jet bridge, you'll turn left for F and right for J.
And indeed, the further back you are, the longer it will take to deplane.

Innocently, I thought F & J classes disembarked on a priority basis, i.e. before economy

They do, but the further back in J you are the longer it takes as there will be other J pax ahead.

On a 3-class J and F depart from the upper deck, F ahead of J. On a 2-class the Y mini-cabin is between J and the door so there it isn't quote possible.

Thanks Hunter, how would I find out whether each leg is 2 or 3 class?

Try a dummy booking for F, or look at the flight fare buckets on ExpertFlyer. Not sure if there's an easier method. BHX has a 2-class, I'm not sure if both flights are 2-class, though.
