waitlist enhanced*
Over the last few years I've been able to waitlist for a mileage upgrade for J and F.
I tried today for the return from Beruit on Sat and its now been discontinued - EK is really making F difficult using miles these days.
*enhanced: means made worse, see the British Airways forum.

Shame , would this work for Y-J still or also been stopped. I have never tried calling to go waitlist for miles upgrade ....
How advanced would you call EK to be placed on the waitlist for a miles upgrade , when it was still allowed?

I have been waitlisted to J and for F and it worked well - I often got F confirmed 5 days out space available.
Now that's gone and given Auto upgrade seems a waste of time its even tricker/time consumnig to confirm Z seats.

Nothing either way. Let's put it this way, I selected auto upgrade and always was upgraded by seeing availability on manage my booking
or by being waitlisted.
I use every available option - I've just had zero success with auto upgrade.

Another question regarding the waitlist , did you need to have the exact amount of miles before you could be waitlisted officially or could you ask to be waitlisted with the knowledge that when they check down the line you will have enough miles.

You had to call in to confirm the upgrade and use miles i.e. It was confirmed but you had to consent and miles were then deducted from your account or a travel co-orindators.

I may have had a super nice call centre operator who was going above and beyond, however I got waitlisted for a J-F miles upgrade when I was gold just over a year ago.
