2-Class Oversold

I have an upcoming flight on a 2-class 777 which appears to be oversold already a few weeks out (zeroed out in both J and Y). Does anyone know if they oversell both cabins and if a IDB might come into play? As of now there are only 2 J seats unselected. Would they really oversell J on a 2-class as I don't believe they normally oversell F on a 3-class.

Yes, they would - and they would offload confirmed staff first.

If you have status, you are extremely unlikely to be IDB - you might be able to volunteer, the usual compensation being a free return trip in Flex fare bucket valid for 12 months in the class of service of your original ticket, as well as rebooking on the next service.

Thanks eternaltransit Guess there would be zero chance of an op-up as well then?

If J is completely full, unlikely - however, J and Y zeroed out may mean that J is empty and Y is so overbooked they have reserved seats in J for op-ups as well.
