Weird connection at DXB
Flew in on EK511 to DXB and I entered the C concourse (aerobridge and not by bus for a change)
My next flight was EK19 from A concourse.
Thought I'll be in for a long walk/train to A and cleared the security check and entered the C concourse.
Started walking towards the A concourse and reached the far end to see that the concourse is cut off from the others. Had to backtrack through the C concourse security check.
We were put in a tiny minibus and taken by bus to A concourse for another security check to enter the concourse.
Is this something new in the afternoons? I usually connect at DXB around midnight or early AM and haven't transited DXB at this time for a while.

I had my first visit to C last week. Arrived at B and saw I was departing from C11. Its a good walk to get the heart pumping after a long flight. Noticed a fair bit of construction work at the bottom of the ramp that connects B & C. The passage was still there to walk through to the concourse but a lot of work either side.

I have done the A-B+C and in reverse many times. There was no possible way to go from C to B or A yesterday afternoon without the bus.
Every single pax exit to B was closed off :-(
The minibus that I was in had a lot of EK veterans . We were all packed like sardines ( no space for luggage).
PS: Did the walk from B to C on the 16th and did notice the construction bit.

Hello,
Same thing happened to me. Arrived from GLA on EK26 at 7:40 on 8th October, on an airbridge in Terminal C. I was connecting to BKK on EK372 from terminal A. Followed signs and cleared security before entering departures C. Walked to the far end, expecting to walk through to B, and then take the train to A. However, the signs took me backwards through security in C. I asked a staff member and I said I think I must have taken the wrong route but he waved me back through security, and invited me to sit in a waiting area with other transfer passengers who needed to go to A. A very cramped mini bus collected us, drove us through what looked like the baggage hall, and deposited us at transfer security in A, where we had to go through security again.
On the return journey we arrived from HKT at around 03:00 22nd October on an air bridge in C again. We had some hours to wait for EK27 back to GLA. I was disappointed it was also leaving from C that day, as I had thought we could spend some time taking a walk to B. I was pleasantly surprised to find the route to walk to B completely open, although there was construction work. We walked to B, had breakfast and then returned to C for boarding.
I did wonder if I had got lost or taken the wrong route on outbound flight as it seemed a bit makeshift. Perhaps it is related to the construction work and the walkway is closed at certain times to allow works but open other times?
Be interesting to hear if anyone else has experienced this.

I'm going through DXB again on Wednesday night so will see if I land or depart from concourse C.

Arrived on a remote gate a few weeks ago and there were staff with signs directing pax with connecting flights from "A" into a separate bus from those terminating in Dubai or connecting to "B" or "C" gates. Complete mayhem.

I don't mind being collected at the aircraft exit in a bus and directly taken to A concourse if my first flight reached the C gate area. That's very good and saves time. (I have had this experience a few times and it was great)
What was annoying is going through the whole security check and then not being able to connect to B/A and then being sent in a small minibus to A and undergoing security checks again.( I was in Y but there were several J and F pax in the same bus).
This whole fiasco meant that my plan of going to the A lounge for a while didn't work (lost at least 30 minutes due to this mess) and I literally had to straight to the A1 gate where my flight was boarding. :-(
I am also going again via DXB next week (1st December) . I suspect that I will be connecting from A to C . Hopefully things will be better.

Its fine at busy periods in my experience over the last month. Its when it's quiet that they start this whole bus fiasco.

Which is fine if you know where your connecting flight is going from, but I usually don't until I get into the terminal. And sometimes not even then, if I have a long connection.

They usually have the destinations of some of the tight connecting flights on the signs as well to help pax. also the IFE shows you departing gates before arrival.
