You don't like overhead bins? The bins are now only over the middle seats, not the ones between the aisle and window. Or is that the passengers from the window seats will be using the bin over the middle seat?

To me, having a higher ceiling is a more attractive proposal than having people reaching above me to get their stuff...hence I'd avoid the middle seats.

I find that, generally you get a bin to yourself on the current setup and minimises the need for bins being opened and closed during the flight. With this new setup, bins will be getting opened more and possibly pax feeling more conscious about the safety of their belongings.

As for me, it's a bad evolution.
Ceiling height is not a real issue, as pax are seated anyway.

In the current setting, you can get a whole bin for yourself. Therefore, if anybody touches it, you know there is a problem.

In future settings, you will have to share a bin. you don't want to get stressed each time somebody touches it, checking that everything is all right.

Moreover, people forget that the center bins are less accessible. Therefore, center pax will really be annoyed by window pax opening the bins.

You really notice the difference not having bins if you are regularly in F - it strangely does make the cabin feel more pleasant.

I suppose it's like the showers on board - sounds like a complete gimmick until you try it.

I don't really buy the whole sharing bins argument - if you are awake you can see what happens (and you have a side bin), if you are asleep you won't notice anyway.

Even in the current setup, I've shared J bins many times so not much difference on full flights imho.

I don't care about traveling F or J as I don't want to spend $7500 rt instead of $1240 rt for a ticket just for 2x24 hours spending in a first class restaurant with a flat bed.
Then I rather keep a lousy Y seat which is more cramped, but on EK 380 it is not that bad.

As for the sharing bins argument, that's ridiculous. Try cattle class where there's 4-5 people to a bin. Unless you're flying to HKG in the back of Y chances are no ones touching your stuff.

My carry on (under standard industry) could never easily fit into the the bins they have eliminated so works fine for me. My (irrational?) anxiety will go up a notch to get my bags right acrosss the aisle from me (I'm usually in A or K).

Agree with previous posters. It will enhance the cabin feel for A and K. Wonder how the bigger middle bins will feel for those in the middle.

I don't carry much on board so not easy to judge, but I see bags the size of a small house going up there. Your industry standard (I didn't think there was such a thing) must be interesting.
