EK seating in Y
Hello people.
I am new here.need your advice for my flight on 7th of december. My itinerary is as follows.
7th Dec BOM-DXB EK501
Transit at DXB for 2.5 hours
7th Dec DXB-JFK EK201
i have booked on an economy saver fare.due to this i can only book my seat numbers during online check-in that happens 48 hours ago.And if i want to advance book my seats it says to pay some amount. My query is will i get a seat number if i check-in online 48 hours before or its safe to advance book.considering worst case scenario of an overbooked flight.
I'm flying for the first time with emirates. Also will i get checked-in for my complete flight till JFK with seat numbers for both?

You should be fine when you check-in online. Then you will get your seat assigned. Don't worry.
If the flights are overbooked EK will look for volunteers to give up their seats in exchange for cash/voucher.

You are already confirmed. You just have not been able to choose your seat yet. Don't worry, you will sit somewhere, even if it is not your preferred seat.
Some more advice: A more informative title question is always appreciated.

Welcome to the Emirates board. You will find a wealth of information on this board and in particular the "EK Forum Dashboard" near the top of the first page.
DXB is a very busy airport but does have some quiet spells. I see EK 501 is scheduled for arrival at 06:05hrs. I can't say for sure if this is one of the quieter times but DXB T3 is quite straightforward.
Before your our arrival into DXB, your connecting flight should be displayed on the IFE so hopefully should be aware of which concourse you need to make your way to if not the same arrival concourse. If this fails for any reason, there are flight information boards before transfer security which should display your next flight.
Unfortunately, you are not guaranteed a specific concourse for A380 flights and as such can depart from any concourse. Transfer security is well signposted as are the concourses if you need to make your way to them. Transferring from A to B/C you would have to take the airside transit train to B/C and vice versa. Transferring from B to C or vice versa is walkable.
Hope this helps to allay some apprehensions. I transferred through DXB for the first time last year and found it easy and way so much better than an LHR T5-T5 international/domestic transfer.

Seat guru will be your friend here. I generally prefer the exit row seats especially the ones at the window without a seat infront of them. There are a couple of A380 seating configs so the it depends on which type you get. These seats are only available at the airport so arrive early enough to request them and if they wont release it for your onward connection, got to the transfer desk/ CS desk at DXB and ask.
