I can't believe you are concerned to pay $2 for 1GB of data. I usually Pay $15 to $20 in Etihad and BA flights.

Navigate manually to portal.inflight.onair.aero and it should take you to the landing page.

I know this is an old thread, but...
I'm travelling in J on a QF award ticket. Will that make me eligible for the free wifi? I'm not sure that I'd be able to change my QF membership number to an EK one. I don't know enough about the booking system to know if that could affect my ticket, so I don't just want to try it. |

You log in with your EK number on the wifi login page, I don't know if it syncs with the pax manifest to check if you're listed as being on the flight, though. Unless it does that you should be fine.

I would guess unless your booking had your skywards details on it, it won't work. |
