Miles to upgrade
Hi all,
Been doing a few business trips from LGW to Australia with a mixture of Sydney and Melbourne.
Initially my employer was okay with Business but for the last trip (and the one I'm currently on- just landed in Sydney) have both been in Economy.
Last trip,I used miles to upgrade the Dubai-LGW leg, but looking today the 'price' seems to have gone up to 40,000 miles.
I'll have enough to upgrade that leg for this trip and the next, but just wondered if that is the going rate or whether it does indeed change, or whether it's easier to upgrade in the lounge or through the app?
Thanks,
J

From my experience, the cost in miles is pretty consistent:
Y Flex ticket, upgrade to J costs:
* Middle east to DXB = 11,700
* DXB to Europe (West) = 39,000
* Two-leg Middle East - DXB - Europe (West) = 42,250
The only exception being promotional offers (rarely targeted at me)...
I usually upgrade online as soon as the seats are available. Might be worth noticing I had two occasions where upgrade in the app was not processed fully, so I had to call in to complete it. Upgrading on the website works perfectly every time.
