Good thinking! Will try for that |

Hope you get it sorted to your parents' favour. S |
For the OP,
Try to find out which side of the plane will provide views of Table Mountain as you descend into Cape Town!! I flew from MUC to CPT on LH a few years ago and was on the right side-had amazing views of the coastline, city and Table Mountain. But I don't know the route EK will take you coming from DXB and which side-left or right will be the best, assuming you arrive during the day? If after dark, it likely does not matter. |

Prevailing winds generally mean runway 19 is in use, which if flying the ILS approach provides pretty nice views, though in my experience EK flies a visual approach which means you only see a corner of Table Mountain as the aircraft turns on to final. If the wind means the opposite runway (01) is in use, there is no view of Table Mountain, however the aircraft will fly out over the ocean at False Bay and make a 180-degree turn to the right to line up with the runway, so again the right in my opinion has better views, however once lined up with the runway Devils Peak would be visible from the left which can also be quite stunning. In my opinion a K seat is always a winner into CPT. |
Hi,
I am travelling with my wife and our TA has given us the two middle seats in first on both LHR-Dubai and also Dubal to Cape town leg. Just over two weeks to go.
It may not be a big deal to some of you guys, but to fly in First is really a bucket list tick for my wife and I, and we really want to experience the whole thing! Those who have read my ( this) thread from the beginning know that I only have a couple of hours in Dubai before my connection to Cape Town and we want to go straight from the plane ( EK004) to the first class lounge. How long will it take us to get from the plane and then get to the first lounge? and will we have time for a massage? Do they serve Dom in the Dubai first lounge? Kind regards, Mklions.. |
You should be able to get to the lounge in 20 min or so from the plane door. You may not be able to get a massage as there is often a wait. I've never seen Dom in the lounge (but plenty on the plane). Have a great trip.
