DXB Gates for Remote Stands

Sorry if asked & answered, but I can't find information on which gates are used for buses to remote stands. EK flight outbound. Want to arrive @ gate +40 if bus required to board, vs. +25 if using jetway. Thanks.

(I'm cutting things tight to allow for shower and maybe a workout while in transit.)

Where would you get a workout? Is there a gym I am unaware of?

B1 is a remote gate. No way of knowing if you'll Land at one until you do!

I'll give it a try, but no guarantees:

Gates A6 to A8 are for buses, and I think these are mirrored at the other end, so maybe A17 to A19. In Concourse C, the bit off the main concourse is most/all bus gates so anything from C36 up. B is the low numbers, with I think B6 being the first airbridge gate.

I've heard G Force Health Club mentioned before, although going to a gym is certainly not on my wish list when transiting DXB.

Just note that if you turn up at T-25, you stand the chance of being offloaded, with no comeback. Ie., if the flight is overbooked and they're looking to offload people, they'll start at T-45 when the gate officially closes.

Depends on what's on your boarding pass - at DXB it's usually 20 minutes before departure.

Ah, apologies. Didn't there used to be signs saying that you needed to be at the gate 45 minutes before your flight?

Gates usually open around then but that's mainly when they want to be sure all Y pax are in the gate area and boarding can start if the plane is ready.

T-20 is usually the hard limit on gate closure at DXB except in the case of the FCL A when they open boarding around T-20 instead!

However! If you haven't checked in yet and are originating DXB sometimes they deny access to airside at T-60.

Thanks everyone.
  • Yes, G-Force Health in airside hotel. Train from A to B (or C), elevator to either gym. It's an expensive shower, but comes w/ towel & quick run on the treadmill. I've got 24 hrs of travel starting @ DXB so stretching the legs is an excellent idea after a 14 hr flight. DVT prevention too.
  • I've got C37-C50, B1-B6 (guessing B7 is first bridge), then A6-8 (not 4/5/9?) and A17-19 (not 16/20/21?) at either end of Concourse A. A4-A9 works for me - right beside the Shake Shack!
  • I'm online check-in & boarding pass 36 hours prior (connecting QF flight on EK paper), and I'm on Flex fare so bumping shouldn't be an issue? EK recommends 45 minutes prior to flight; doors close @ 20 minutes prior. With the bus, I'd rather not cut it close to 20, and I absolutely want an on-time departure. Whether the other 300+ pax cooperate is beyond my control.
  • Appreciate the 60-minute cut-off to check-in for flight, online or kiosk or sometimes even counter.
  • Well aware of random gate assignment, especially for 3-class 773. I could arrive late...or early. I'll adjust on the day; free showers are an option. So is running from security to the train to my gate.
  • Thanks to this info, it looks like my flight is very consistently at a remote stand in July/August. I'll cut my treadmill run from 30 minutes to 5 minutes. Might explain why the flight averages 30 minutes from dep. time to actual takeoff.

Last question. Where does the airside train from A to B pop pax out at? Concourse A entrance is well marked (Gate A12-A13), but I must be blind and can't see train icon on Concourse B (or C). Not the train to Terminal 3 (although I'm guessing...same location? B17/B19?)

Thanks again!

Train doesn't go to C. It ends in the centre of B at the info stand and entrance to EK lounges.

I flew DXB Cape Town from concourse A about 3 weeks ago and Gate A7 was a bus gate.

Only issue was flying Y and boarding from the lounge as they didnt open the gate until later so could only take the last bus

Question. If boarding from a bus gate at DXB, do Y pax with status get to board the priority boarding (J) bus?

No, in my experience you skip the queue and get on the Y bus
