Applying for transit visas in Dubai
I am from a country that requires a visa to enter UAE. I have a hotel booked in Dubai and applied for a transit visa though them but I fly in two days and I haven't received a visa. I am investigating any other options before giving up an booking a couple of nights at the international terminal hotel for the final nights of my honeymoon.
I am flying in on flydubai and out on emirates (all booked through emirates) but since I am not flying in and out on the same airline it seems neither would apply for the transit visa for me. I applied through the hotel (Mvenpick Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai).
While looking around found this article saying a 96 hour visa could be applied for at the airport (http://www.emirates247.com/news/emir...09-20-1.604073) has anyone done this is it really possible?

If you are flying from one country and onwards to a different one, a transit visa should be feasible. It's at the discretion of the immigration officials but provided you don't have too "controversial" of a passport and hotel res, it should be ok. They are clear that there are no guarantees.
