July ticket prices

Hi,

I'm looking at return flights in Y from DXB-LHR between 1st-24th July. Prices are anything between 5430 and 6130 dirham for a flex ticket - does this not seem unusually expensive?

I did a flight in Y at xmas time for 5800 and that was flex plus. A flex plus ticket this July is 7930. Surely no one would pay those prices for a Y ticket and would shift to an alternate airline...

I'm wondering whether I should bite the bullet now or wait a while to see if prices come down closer to the time - the flights aren't anywhere near busy at this stage. Any advice with regards to this would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

End of school in Dxb and mass expat exodus - pretty standard and prices won't be dropping.

Also eid 7 th July and London is a very popular destination from here.

End of Eid, summer in DXB...yeah, I'd bite the bullet now and get the flights - you might not be able to get any flights if you wait too long!

yeah I'm struggling to find seats from CPT-VIE for end of next week, so much so that I've now booked from JNB. there definitely seems to be a crunch on flights to Europe from next week onwards. I checked dates up until the first week of July and it's all just Flex Plus seats remaining which cost as much in J as a First Flex virtually

Not just EK. Girlfriend just booked NAP-EDI return for next month at almost the same price as I paid EDI-BKK return last week. Her's on an LCC.
