I have the following itinerary booked, and was wondering how likely it is that I can check my bag all the way from JFK to SIN rather than have to pick it up in MUC. I have business to attend to in the city and would rather not have to drag it along if it can be avoided. Any ideas?
EK206 JFK-DXB, EK53 DXB-MUC (arr 08:35)
Dep. MUC same day at 15:40 on EK50 to DXB then EK354 to SIN
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Does anyone know whether the lounge in MUC is any good? There isn't much online that I could find.

Technically doable - but will depend on the motivation and competence of the check-in staff at JFK.
It's much more likely the bag will just follow you to MUC and then go back to DXB
Although if they are clever they will find a way of making it transit at DXB for a longer period of time.

If I conclude my business early then wondering whether I should stay in the city centre a bit longer or head back to the airport. (Been to Munich many times before so no sightseeing required).

Thanks. Actually hadn't considered whether they'd let me check in for the whole itinerary through to SIN, and if I can get all 4 BPs then they're not going to through check by bag either I guess. I'll just have to see how things go at JFK. Maybe there's a left luggage facility at MUC if all else fails.

If not then there may need to be some calls made but it can be done.

That's an odd itinerary. OP, is there a particular reasons why you are going to Munich? If not, I can't see the need for this route. It should be possible to fly JFK-DXB-SIN, surely?
I have no experience of long periods between flights at MUC, but I was able to check a bag right through AKL-SIN-LHR, with 11.5 hours on the ground in Singapore. At that time, I understood that this could be done when the interval between flights was less than 12 hours.

I honesty didn't even know you could have all that on one PNR/booking!
