Over to the dark side.....!
After 5 years of uninterrupted loyal flying with Emirates in J , I have just booked my first flight in J with Etihad ,
Their sale was too good to pass up, and Emirates fares just seem to be going up the way
Any experiences good and bad from fellow Emirates flyers that have dipped their toe in Etihad product ?
I will be flying A330-200 metal

Also too expensive to fly direct from my desired stations or no flights so overall prefer sticking with EK Y with the occasional miles upgrade.

I just took my first 2 Etihad flights, both in F, into and out of AUH, Out was on the 380 and while the apartment was amazing for a long haul night flight, the overall experience is keeping me firmly loyal to EK. from the unorganized scrum to get my chauffeur drive in AUH to the horrible lounge, I was really kinda disgusted w Etihads whole ground game

Found AUH airport to be completely intolerable and would prefer to avoid until structure and staffing are brought up to EK levels. Always decent seats in F/J (though wasn't as impressed by the 380 Apartments as I thought I would be - a seat that barely reclines and a not-all-that-comfortable bed. Shower not a patch on EK's) but the soft product underwhelmed to differing levels on 6 flights. And every flight delayed by at least 30 mins. If I do ever switch to another ME3 it would be Qatar but EK's range and flight frequencies are difficult to give up.

I have recently tried both EK and EY in F and found EK to be far superior to EY which I didn't expect.
Here is the link to a post I made in the EY forum regarding both experiences.
