Emirates to ZVJ
Hello All,
I'm interested in exploiting some of the low fares in business class for Emirates to the Abu Dhabi bus stop.
The fares when booking to ZVJ is in some cases 30-40% lower than booking to DXB.(!) While I live in Abu Dhabi, I don't have the time or inclination to wait 4-5 hours for a bus, in particular since Emirates business class travellers are entitled to free limo service.
Has anyone tried to book to ZVJ, and exit at DXB? What about the other direction?
Cheers,
-T

If you no show for any flight segment the rest of the flights will be cancelled. All airlines do this.
What you want to do is called hidden city ticketing: something airlines do not like or condone. It has risks.

Does the bus segment carry an EK flight number? Will you be issued a boarding pass for the bus segment? Will it be scanned? If so, you should be concerned about the cancellation of the remainder of your air ticket.
Did you consider posting your inquiry in the FT Emirates forum, instead of here?

Yes, I was hoping that somebody who had experience with "flying" on the Emirates bus would be able to answer some of these.

I have never used the bus but did try a few random dates for 'flights'to ZVJ on the EK website.
The tickets seem to be exactly the same price as to DXB from LGW.

Well, it might be much cheaper -- at least in some markets -- if EK were trying to undercut EY's fares to AUH.
Here in the States, UA codeshares with our national rail company, Amtrak, on rail segments from EWR Airport Rail Station to places like Philadelphia; Stamford, Connecticut; and Wilmongton, Delaware. UA "flights" to Philadelphia 30th Street Rail Station (ZFV) -- via EWR -- are sometimes much cheaper than flights to just EWR. This is one way that UA competes with AA, which has a hub at PHL Airport. But if you have a roundtrip ticket XXX-EWR-ZFV-EWR-XXX and you do not take the EWR-ZFV train ride -- and get your ticket scanned by an Amtrak conductor -- the return portion of your roundtrip ticket is likely to be canceled.

J tickets can be bought for anywhere from. 1300 to 1600 rather than the over 2k that I would have to pay for a LGW-DXB return .
What I didn't find is any change in the prices while looking for fares to the Abu Dhabi bus station compared to DXB. The fares seem exactly the same on the EK website ..

A couple of days ago I noticed approximately $1000 USD cheaper fare with Emirates Business class from CDG to ZVJ as opposed to CDG to DXB. Very strange, but perhaps an opportunity.
