EK Air Frame Delivery Info - 2016

Hello,

As we are in a new year I thought I would start a new EK delivery thread.

This is the link to the 2015 thread - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/emira...fo-2015-a.html

Thanks

It seems that the active A330 fleet is down to 13 units only. 16 frames are still in Dubai. A6-EAM and A6-EAP have been categorized a wfu/stored already, whereas A6-EKQ seems not to have flown for quite a while, bringing the active fleet down to 13.

Meanwhile, the 4-strong A343 fleet seems to be on the flight schedule until the end of S16 at least, with quite a busy flight program.

At least 11 more have been ordered; making a total of 15 frames (2 class).

FML well hope the other one to MAN stays a 3 class.

Etihad gazzumps EK with the residence and EK respond with 2-class a/c, I've noticed QR are phasing out 3-class on new aircraft too. Although they still call it First on some flights even when it's a 2-class.

My latest estimate is that by calendar year end the A330/340 & 777-200ER fleets will be gone, plus the first 2 777-300s, still accounting for a net increase of 10 frames. This substantial increase of average aircraft seating capacity plus more operational efficiency will drive most of the capacity growth this year. Crunching the numbers, expect to see a further 6 or so new destinations/extra frequencies yet to be announced for commencement this calendar year.

A further check of the CAPA database shows 6 EK A330s having already come or coming off lease this month: EKQ, EKX, EKY, EAF, EAM, & EAP.

I figure the wing fixes are complete on all the A380's, but how much longer will it take to fix the doors now? It's going to be a big plus when all the air frames are used to their full potential.

By my count there are approximately 10 frames left for door fixes, plus 2 at any one time being repaired in Abu Dhabi and Bordeaux. The turnaround time is approximately 2 weeks. Doing the math, a good guess is that all door modifications should be completed by the end of March.

DAE sees 30-35 aircraft deals in 2016, mostly from Iran
CEO of aerospace firm says Iranian airlines will be looking to lease aircraft that are immediately available while they await European deliveries.

This should help EK off load some older air frames.
