Is EK's Website Having Problem?
 
Was trying to check available flights for my next trip. After EK site went through the "checking" page, the select flight page was just blank.

Anybody facing the same problem since yesterday?

Not that specific problem - but the reality is that barely a week/month goes by without seeing a report of one problem or another affecting the EK site....:td:

My own particular "favourite" is the tiresome silly error messages that pop up just after you've gone through the long process of selecting flights/dates/fare types in order to price up a multi-city itin.

Mostly ok for the straightforward stuff.

Yes, been having the same issue since yesterday when searching from homepage.

Works fine when I search through the main 'Make a booking' page though.

Very strange that they are still facing all these IT problems, I thought it should have been fully tested and relatively bug free by now.

There's certainly some meddling going on. I'm sure a fare tracker option came up when I was browsing the other night, but I can't get it back again. Anyone else seen it?

I'd argue that QA or Staging environments are the place to make sure that your deployment to specific customers before full roll out actually works, rather than doing your testing on the live environment! :D After all, how much testing can you actually do if you end up breaking the site! Plus there's also the irritating thing that customers actually want to use the existing site as well...!

I think the definition of "test" at EK is a bit too broad!

I think the senior management needs to have a good talk with their IT guys.

Just heard from my department's TA that she had no choice but to rebook 6 guys from NRT to GIG with AF (original with LH), cause the EK site kept bouncing her out. That's 6 J customers gone...

I'm having a problem with the Manage my bookings section. It won't let me change the car pick up time, either on the Emirates app or the main web page. I've done it previously so I know it can be done, but just no facility to do it.

I always do it this way.

Wonderful. Now site is showing no miles earn even on all flights, nor does it allow you to proceed after choosing the flight.

I think some serious action needs to be taken soon.

Annoying bugs on EK's website
 
Why does it always say you can upgrade 2 seats if there is one seat available and then asks you to call the call centre?! It should just say no availability surely?

Also took me 90 minutes on the phone to book an Arabian airpass - such a pain. Also after my last trip to Amman and recent treatment by EK I've booked j not f. ;)

I've been getting a similar "Availability - Yes" but no upgrade possible. But pretty sure there's no availability anyway based on loads.

For the worse over the phone, ha ha!

FWIW, I find the most efficient ticket issuers are airport desks - those guys and girls can work magic (10 minutes to construct a new itinerary with new tickets combined with partially used coupons on an old ticket as well as class changes and mileage upgrade preserved, as well as correct change fee!)

funny, last week at the airport, they told me I should call SW for a mileage upgrade, because they do not know how to do it :D

Ah yes ....the Arabian Airpass. One could be forgiven for thinking that it is not real, but merely the stuff of myth & legend.

My one & only experience of using the AA brings a wry smile of amusement when I look back - although I didn't find the process especially funny at the time.

When I wanted to book some flights a couple of years or so ago (coincidentally also to Amman) I called EK support - as instructed on the website.


ME : "Hi there, I'd like to take advantage of the Arabian Airpass scheme please "

EK : "Arabian Airpass ...? What's that ? "

ME : "It enables Emirates passengers travelling international longhaul to book regional flights within the Middle East at special rates."

EK : "Really ? And where did you hear about this ? "

ME : "er ....from your website."

EK : "oh, best book from the website then."

ME : "Actually I wish I could. But that's not possible. Which is why I'm calling you."


And the rest, as they say, is history........

I did eventually get my flights booked, but hadn't planned on the need for me to run a staff training programme in order to do so.

3k aed for j to Amman from Dxb is about half price. Will upgrade maybe but they issued me a saver ticket so it's 19k miles to upgrade. We will both be platinum so will get the lounge in Dubai so unless I don't have plans for the miles elsewhere I may leave this one.

worth the wait. always wondering why you do not have to pay YQ on the AA, does not make sense at all
