Upgrading a leg of a multi-stop ticket
I am flying from Tunis to Hong Kong via Dubai in December. Last year, I got those upgrade offers via email, one for each leg: TUN-DXB, DXB-HKG, HKG-DXB, DXB-TUN.
I would like upgrade for cash without waiting for the offers but the EK website does not let me upgrade for a single leg but force me to upgrade for the whole sector (i.e TUN-HKG or HKG-TUN). Does anyone know how I can upgrade to the night flights only (DXB-HKG and HKG-DXB)?

ive tried this many times and dont think its possible. the reason being that youre buying a fare from TUN-HKG which is different than if you bought them seperately TUN-DXB and DXB-HKG. sorry to say, in my experience the only way to upgrade individual sectors would be usnig miles

Unfortunately the EK system is set up so that when trying to upgrade a sector in this way, they apply married sector logic and so you can only upgrade with cash using the outbound or inbound (or up to the first stopover point, as the case may be). Also online they will attempt to charge you a change fee which is specifically waived in most EK fares for upgrades of cabin.
If you do only want to upgrade individual sectors - and I think the way their system is set up is that these don't result in an re-ticket, just a note on the booking and a seat move, so you will only receive original ticketed miles - you will have to either hope for an email special offer, upgrade at the airport (ask at check-in or ticketing) if they are offering it, or at a very last resort on-board (which is likely to be $$$$$).

Thank you guys... seems that I will have to wait for that upgrade. Got it for 4 sectors last year... However, it is disappointing. BA let's you upgrade individual sectors.
