Miles Upgrade
I have enough miles to upgrade from J to F MRU-MAN but my partner doesn't.
We are both on the same PNR so this won't be possible as both of us need to upgrade?
Is there a way round this at all?
Thanks

Contact Emirates and ask them to split the PNR.
That will allow one passenger to be upgraded. Whether the other person who is not upgraded is happy with that - who knows? Maybe you will earn enough further miles before the travel to upgrade the other person - but that also depends on upgrade availability.
Three of us have a single booking from DXB-MAD later this year. We have split the PNR into 3 single ones. Mrs bsd and Miss bsd have been upgraded, then availability disappeared. - and I am waiting to see if it reappears for myself.
One potential complication we experienced on another split PNR trip in the past is that it can mess up chauffeur drive - if you provide details for all the party then more than one car can be provided; if you don't then maybe only one car is provided and you have to convince someone that a largish car is needed for more passengers.

Thanks a million guys! Will think about these options carefully.
Though we may now simply both upgrade one leg from DXB-MAN and then there will be no falling out!
Provided there is of course availability!
Thanks once again - knew I could count on you to come up with solutions!

Thanks!
I forgot about the First Class Lounge - also forgot that DXB-MAN is busy though

I have had several op ups on that route and miles upgrades so fingers crossed!

Ek17 is the busiest and goes full sometimes due to op ups. It's rarely full from revenue around 6/7 in my experience. Really depends when you are flying but you should be ok to snag 2 seats although it may not be until the day. Let us know and we can check z class availability for you.

Thanks guys!
If not then maybe we will upgrade MRU-DXB but will try for DXB-MAN.
Being Tuesday will probably be OK then!

I'll set up an alert on Expertflyer for this flight. The only snag is that I am travelling myself at that time and may not have immediate access to t'internet...

Update:
Phoned EK two days ago to ask it any availability and usual reply - try later.
Tonight for the first time there are upgrades available. Will get on to EK first thing tomorrow (need to phone as hubby can use his own miles, I'm not using mine for both of us!
Thanks everyone for your input
