I don't think both of your positions are mutually exclusive, though - I think chinatraderjmr's point is that he thinks EK knows exactly where the bulk of their good margin and good profit-generating revenue comes from and he believes it's not from people who travel frequently hunting for good value fares, but, I would imagine, from travellers who pay for higher fare class tickets, either frequently in his case, or infrequently (enough to fill the cabins).
I think there's also a flicker of annoyance at people who have found the most cash efficient way to get status and then proceed to feel entitled as a result of that, when many people spend/contribute profits to a larger extent but isn't reflected in the FFP (or indeed, are even members).
However, I think EK has moved to rationalise the FFP with the changes earlier this year to bring status more in line with spend/profits which renders the whole discussion about "who contributes more" moot (as if it was even a thing worth discussing anyway!)

iO is really aimed at different people (some of whom overlap into the frequent flyer category) and has a different set of benefits - nothing more or less than that really, I think.

BA Premier
CX Diamond Plus
SK Pandion
QF Chairman's Lounge
DL 360
AA CK
UA GS (is that even unpublished?)
The level of exclusivity and benefits varies greatly between them all though.

And NZ's Elite Priority One - less than 100 members (out of 2 million +) and they're treated very well from what I understand.

Skywards Lifetime Tier Miles - IO
Hi there,
Long time lurker and first post here.
Was wondering how people are doing for life time tier miles with skywards.
The reason I ask is because I'm quite keen on figuring out what it takes to be IO,
Would love it if people could help post their life time tier miles and over how long they accumulated.
Mine is 600k+ over 12 years => majority in y
I think I remember a thread saying that 2 mil lifetime tier is the entry requirement. Any members here have IO experience?
Cheers
