Is it worth checking for better seats regularly?

For the first time in years we've not been able to select seats in the forward Economy cabin for our LHR-DXB flight, or the return. We've had to choose seats in the next cabin further back.

With only a few weeks to go before the flight, is it worth checking regularly to see if any seats in the forward Economy cabin become available or is it a waste of time?

With BA I am often able to get a better seat shortly before departure day but I've never had this issue with EK before where almost all of the forward cabin Economy seats are 'Unavailable'.

Aircraft is an A380-800.

Two seats needed, next to each other. We'll check daily, so thanks for the advice.

Go to ExpertFlyer.com and set a Seat Alert for the seat(s) on the flight you want. They'll check for you and send you an email or text if it opens up.

Also worth checking frequently in case there's a change in equipment.

Many thanks for the new advice. We've managed to get seats in the front section of Economy now so very happy!

For the icing on the cake I'll take the advice about setting up an alert on expertflyer.
