EK miles on QF

I have to travel from the US west coast to Australia next month. Is it possible to get EK tier miles and/or EK miles for traveling on QF metal? I don't see EK coded flights to go from DFW to SYD or LAX to MEL.

Award seats on the QF transpacific flights in J and F are very very hard to find.
You almost have to be booking 330-353 days out, unless you get lucky and manage to find a cancellation.

Probably best to check the Skywards section of the EK website: http://www.emirates.com/uk/english/s...es/qantas.aspx

You will get EK miles only for a QF fight with QF number and EK miles and EK tier miles if your QF flight has an EK number.

So, this is going to be my routing DFW-SYD on QF; SYD-SIN on BA and SIN-HKG-SFO on CX. I have no status on any of these airlines or with any other OneWorld airline. How do I maximize EK Plat status for benefits (lounge, upgrade) and miles? Should I get the entire itinerary issued on QF ticket stock and use Skywards? Any tips would be very valuable.

Other than benefits for DFW-SYD , the rest will have no lounge access et al regardless of who issues the ticket

Thanks for the responses! Am I better off trying to status match to one of the OW carriers I am flying and use them throughout this trip?

For that itinerary, yes, best to be a OW elite (or fly F!). I think topbonus at airberlin is still offering it but doubt you can get it in time, unfortunately.

You would be one step ahead if you used QF from SYD-SIN instead of BA (although I realise there may be good reasons why you are using BA), then you would get access to QF FCL in SYD.

Good point Using BA because QF does not offer premium economy on SYD-SIN
